M.A. English Language & Literature

I help students find their voice.

My English composition and literature courses help students to value writing as a skill necessary to survive and thrive in academic and employment communities. Through exploring different rhetorical modes in literature, students learn to evaluate their thoughts in the context of the world around them. They learn to refine their message into texts difficult to be forgotten.

My work with students is both a partnership and a process. I develop curriculum using instructional design strategies and learning theories that allow us to partner on reaching course standards. Since obtaining my Master of Arts in English Language and Literature in 2013, I have been fortunate enough to engage with over thirty-two classes and almost twelve hundred students.

Course Reviews

  • “I really enjoyed the readings that were assigned and how they corresponded to an in-depth discussion board or writing.”

    Student, Literature IFall 2013
  • “The instructor took time to explain things over the phone. She answered email questions. I had a lot of fun writing about my experience with the local ice storm in 2009. It was great to read other student's experiences. I like that I could use my own personal experience to learn how to write. I didn't know I would enjoy the course this much.”
